Fearless Woman & Crown Fixer, Amee’ Quiriconi
“Be the woman who fixes another woman’s crown, without telling the world that it was crooked”.
I love this quote. It speaks to the way I want to be and act – in service to others. It reminds me to be the woman who is more about selfless collaboration than petty competition. It also reminds me to surround myself with other like-minded women who are more interested in building up others, then tearing them down.
That is why I like knowing and collaborating with business coach and mentor, Amee’ Quiriconi. Always a champion of the underdog, Amee’ works tirelessly in equipping entrepreneurs (both male and female) with the skills and mindset to be successful. Her specialty – helping business owners end the cycle of self-sabotage – something she had to learn herself.

Amee’ is known nationally for her podcast, One Broken Mom – her platform to inform and educate listeners on issues of mental wellness and how it impacts relationships. Her new book and podcast, The Fearless Woman’s Guide to Business: What Every Woman Needs to Know to be a Courageous, Authentic, and Unstoppable Entrepreneur” is a blend of self-improvement, neuroscience, and entrepreneurship. The podcast’s intent is similar to the book: help more women find financial freedom and build a career that gives them everything they have ever dreamt of and more.
I asked Amee’ to share how she go started and what motivates her to share with others. Please get to know this fearless woman AND crown fixer, Amee’ Quiriconi:

Describe yourself.
Hmm. Ridiculously curious, even skeptical at times. Highly motivated by righting wrongs. And pretty much undaunted by failure. I love to do things my own way, at first, so that I can take some arrows in the back and test my hypothesis, even when being told how it “should” be or always been done. But if I find a new pathway, then I love to share it with other people. I’m “Activity Girl” – (check out the lyrics to Activity Grrrl by Joan Jett and you’ll know where that comes from.) I come off “intimidating” (other people’s words, not mine) because when I’m on a roll, you will know it and outspoken women don’t fit into gender stereotypes very well. But people close to me know me as warm, even introverted at times who just has a strong value system rooted in fairness. I really like helping the underdogs.

When did you begin One Broken Mom and why?
I started OBM in 2018, after about 4 months of therapy and several more months of intense self-work and research into neuroscience and psychology. I knew there was a book in the mess of the work and discovery I was doing and felt that a podcast could open my world more. I did it to help others learn what I was learning but I had no idea that it would also become a part of my own therapeutic process. In the course of the three years of doing the show, I went from reading life-changing books to actually getting to know, personally, the authors of these books that changed my life. That blows my mind still today. I feel blessed actually. And I think that is in some way how the Universe re-paid my efforts for starting the show to begin with, if you want to assign some spiritual meaning to it all.

What is the best piece of advice you were given when you started?
At the expense of sounding egotistical, my best advice came from the voice inside my head, reminding myself that good results come from patience, which up until those last few months of 2017 and into early 2018, I didn’t have a lot of before. I wanted fast gratification and was fueled by moving quickly. But at the beginning of the show, I knew that I needed to focus on good content first and foremost and not worry about downloads or stats or other “pats on the back” for validation. Now in fairness, that last bit about content, that’s a Gary Vanerchuck principal so I suppose I took his advice too and need to give him credit.

What tool or object could you not live without?
My laptop with the internet access. It holds all of my ideas. It’s my backup stereo for music and it’s my connection to all of the knowledge the world has out there. I am either constantly writing or researching or dreaming and my laptop is the center of that.

Name a fear or professional challenge that keeps you up at night?
Self–sabotage. I’ve done it before and didn’t’ realize it. But now that I am aware, I second-guess myself at times. I am hyper-vigilant about my ability to see situations without the toxic biases I had before, whether it’s my interpersonal relationships with employees, co-workers, or anyone. So, I have a high degree of patience I didn’t have before and a few more checks & balances in my life to help keep me from falling prey to myself.

What is your no-fail go-to when you need inspiration?
Music and movement. When I feel stuck, I need to get outside and start moving but I also need to have some uplifting, hard rocking music in my earbuds – the kind of music that gets my brain saying “F*ck yea! Let’s crush this!” Without fail, after an hour, I have solved the world’s problems and ready to keep fighting. 6 miles on the Centennial Trail and “Tik Tik Boom” by The Hives works nicely at times. So does “Rebel Girl” by Bikini Kill.

What does the next year hold for you?
My book, The Fearless Woman’s Guide to Starting a Business: What Every Woman Needs to Know to be a Courageous, Authentic, and Unstoppable Entrepreneur” will be released on April 13 through Mango Publishing. That’s a big deal. So my year will be focused on sharing that book and the things I teach and talk about in it with as many women and interested men as possible. I also have my son moving out this upcoming year (which he is excited to do) and so my family dynamic will shift as my daughter and I are looking forward to becoming our own version of the “Gilmore Girls.”
